Mie Prefecture is famous not only for its historical places, such as “Ise Jingu(shrine)” which is one of the oldest and the most sacred shrines in Japan, and the World Cultural Heritage site "Kumano Kodo", but also known as the hosting prefecture of G7 Ise-Shima summit in 2016. Moreover, there are so many delicious dishes to explore, for instance, the world-famous Matsusaka-beef, Ise Shrimp, and Akafuku (rice cake covered with smooth sweet bean paste) to name a few.
Do not forget to see the traditional diving fishing, called “Ama-diver” who dive without any gears to catch abalones and sea urchins! You will never get run out of thing to do in Mie!
